  • Hello Everyone,

Here is another Swedish Recipe for you to try. 😍

    🇸🇪 Flygande Jakob:

Flygande Jakob or flying Jakob is a Swedish casserole made with a combination of chicken, chili sauce, bananas, bacon, cream, and roasted peanuts. The dish is baked in an oven, then served with rice and a green salad on the side. This unusual dish was invented by Ove Jakobsson, a man who worked in the air freight industry, hence the name of the dish. His original recipe was first published in 1976 in a Swedish cooking magazine and it because a weirdly popular classic that is quick and easy to make.

    Ready in: 30 minutes:

    Servings: 4:

    Ingredients:

    1 Grilled Chicken
    140 Grams Bacon
    300 ml Heavy Cream
100 ml Mild Chili Sauce or Ketchup
    100 Grams Peanuts
    2 Bananas
    Rice for serving
    Salt, to taste
    Pepper, to taste

    1. Preheat the oven to 225°C or 430°F.

    2. Remove all the meat from the chicken and shred it. Place the meat in a baking dish and season with salt and pepper if desired.

    3. Peel the bananas and slice them, not too thick. Place the bananas over the chicken in the baking dish.

    4. In a bowl, combine the cream and the chili sauce or ketchup.

    5. Pour the cream mixture evenly over the chicken and bananas.

    6. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes

    7. While the dish is baking, boil rice according to instructions on the package.

    8. Chop the bacon in small pieces and fry until crispy in a frying pan. Then place the bacon bits on a paper towel to drain the excess fat.

    9. After the dish has been baking in the oven for 20 minutes, remove it from the oven and sprinkle the bacon and peanuts on top.

    10. Serve with rice and a salad.

Hope you have fun creating this recipe 😍
    All the best of luck,
