๐ฏ๐ต Agedashi Tofu:
A popular appetizer menu at Izakayas and Japanese restaurants, Agedashi tofu is crispy deep fried tofu served in flavorful tsuyu sauce with grated radish, green onion, and bonito flakes as toppings. If you donโt mind deep-frying, this tofu dish is incredibly easy to make at home.

Servings: 2:
Ingredients:
300 Grams Firm Tofu
2 tbsp. Corn Starch
Cooking Oil to deep-fry
Sauce/Broth:
1ยฝ Deciliter Dashi Broth
2 tbsp. Soy Sauce
2 tbsp. Mirin
1 tbsp. Sugar
Toppings:
5 cm of Daikon, grated
Spring Onions
Sesame Seeds to sprinkle
1. Make the sauce by putting all the ingredients into a sauce pan. Over a medium heat, bring the all broth ingredients to boil, then turn the heat off and set aside.
2. Cut the tofu 3cm x 4cm x 2cm. Drain the water out of the tofu by wrapping it in a paper towel and leaving it for about 10 minutes without any weight over the tofu.
3. Place the corn starch onto a flat tray and dip each tofu into the starch on all sides. Dust off the excess with a brush.
4. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan to 340ยฐF or 170ยฐC and deep-fry 4 pieces of the tofu at a time for a few minutes.
5. Take the deep fried tofu pieces out of the oil and leave it on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.
6. Place the fried tofu into a serving bowl and top with the toppings, then pour the sauce over the top.
