In New Zealand, this evening's news has a major segment on measles. Apparently, there are outbreaks of the "deadly" disease all over the place. From the panic-stricken statements made by health officials, you would think that something akin to bubonic plague had struck. It's all a little bemusing, as everyone of my generation had measles, which was, back in the 1950s, regarded as a relatively mild illness.
